All of our fireplaces are wood-burning. From Labor Day to Memorial Day (with the exception of High Fire Danger conditions), we provide a complimentary bundle of wood for your first night and have additional bundles available for $8 each. During the warm, dry months we have fire logs available for purchase in the office at $7 each. We strongly encourage our guests to NOT bring their own wood as this promotes the spreading of diseases and pests in our sensitive ecosystem. Glad you asked. All 12 Rustic Cabins are free standing, ranging in size from a Studio to 3 bedrooms, and were built between 1910 and 1960. They’re genuinely rustic in nature; our goal is to not disrupt the original cabin style and environment while ensuring the comfort of our guests. Our 6 New Rustic Cabins are all duplexes, meaning you will likely have a neighbor. They were built in the early ’80s with a more open layout and less wood throughout the cabin. They also offer a comfortable cabin experience with newer amenities and furnishings.
We had the unfortunate pleasure of having one of our duplexes burnt down by a guest back in 2008. This gave us a unique opportunity to provide accommodations that didn’t exist prior: A comfortable, updated cabin with a Jacuzzi (for 2) in the bathroom, a large flat-screen TV in the living room, and forced air heat and air conditioning. We have also kept these units non-smoking and pet free for our guests with allergies.
While part of it is to minimize noise, we also needed to ensure we had some accommodations set aside for our allergy-sensitive guests.
No, parking at the Inn is complimentary for guests. Cabin guests park right next to (or directly in front) of their cabin. Theme Room guests share the main parking lot, which is a short stroll to their accommodations. We also have extra parking if you need to bring more than one vehicle; please let us know if this is the case when making your reservation.
We do not have any onsite dining facilities, but we do have a recommended list of restaurants and food outlets that either deliver and/or are within close walking distance of the Inn. We appreciate your support of Idyllwild’s local businesses. Also, all of the cabins have kitchens and the theme rooms have a microwave and refrigerator, allowing guests to enjoy their favorite meals and snacks in their units.
We have portable/complimentary propane barbecue onsite for guests to use. We charge $7 for the propane canisters or you can bring your own. If you do choose to bring a barbecue it must be propane. NO CHARCOAL allowed given fire regulations.
If you plan on visiting Idyllwild and bringing along your pet friend(s), you’ll be happy to know that we do allow up to 2 dogs in most of our cabins. Our only requirements are…
We’ve found that most dogs tend to bark due to the unfamiliar environment and wildlife surroundings
While we currently do not have a pet fee, we will charge an extra cleaning fee or a maintenance fee if the cabin requires extra housekeeping or repairs due to a pet.
Several restaurants allow pet owners to eat on the deck with their animals.
Numerous shops and galleries don’t mind having your pets walk through with you. In fact, several of the shop owners bring their pets to work with them.
Several trails around Idyllwild allow dogs. Check with the local Forest Service Station to find out which ones, (951) 659-2117.
